Get your Vern-Off to LA?
Awoke this morning and somehow missed the news yesterday about Vernon Wells being traded to the Angels. At the moment this feels pretty crappy, but I really want to believe in Alex Anthopoulos and his plans for the Jays. On the plus side we do get Mike Napoli back in return, but this only eases the pain slightly for now. The real stinger is that we’ve had the luxury of watching this 3 time Golden Glover play outfield for the North Birds for 10+ seasons. And THAT is what hurts most. Wells has been a Blue Jay since 1999, and we all know the longer your have something, the harder it is to let it go. And It’s not just the letting go of the good player, it’s letting go of the good person. And Vernon Wells was both. Good luck in LA Vern. *Tips his cap*
